The "I'm Afraid of Americans" Burger

Esther's Kitchen - Las Vegas, NV • February 11, 2019

On Thursday, January 31, 2019, .com presented Chef James Trees' #OffTheMenu "I'm Afraid of Americans" at Esther’s Kitchen in Las Vegas.

The burger pays tribute to both David Bowie's 1997 collaboration with Trent Reznor and our love/hate relationship with American cheese. Chef Trees, a big Bowie fan, wanted to create a solid take on a classic American cheeseburger. The reimagined classic had a griddled patty, rinsed red onions, pickled green tomatoes and plenty of that gooey American cheese.

.com diners didn't stop with the "I'm Afraid of Americans" burger. They also ordered signature dishes like the stripped down house Caesar Salad; roasted cauliflower and kale Salad with pickled raisins; chicken parm sandwich with organic tomato sauce; house meatballs also with organic tomato sauce; and radiatorre with black garlic, lemon, cream and toasted breadcrumbs.
