Slane Irish Whiskey has a deep connection to the holiday and as the second fastest-growing new Irish whiskey we want to take a moment to celebrate our brand and it's deep history.

Five minutes from Slane Distillery, the Hill of Slane is traditionally regarded as the location where Patrick defied the pagan king of Tara by lighting the first Paschal fire in 433 AD prior to becoming a saint. The first Slane Castle was constructed on the top of the Hill of Slane. So come toast with us as we celebrate our heritage.... and remember we are halfway there!

Chef Andrea, a Las Vegas native, is a busy woman! Currently a pastry sous for L'Atelier De Joel Robuchon, and having formerly worked with Thomas Keller's Bouchon at the Venetian, she also brings us PopNpies!

PopNpies is Chef Andrea's creative and homey take on a versatile comfort food she hopes will bring loved ones together over something "not too fancy, not too serious," but full of flavor. A dedication to the nostalgic and, she hopes, comforting in a difficult time here in her hometown.

"I believe there is a pie out there for everyone, and it's my goal to provide that!"

We start this virtual experience with a "Slainte!" Follow along and create a cocktail with Sonia Stelea. Then let's turn our attention to Rebecca Gardiner to learn about their history and the story behind St. Paddy's Day.

Tart and sweet with a bite like the sting of a gooseberry bush. Sure to make you see Faeries! The Gooseberry tree is linked heavily to the Faeries folklore in Celtic traditions and is said to be a part of the symbology of many pagan Goddesses. It has the attributes of divine influences and sweetness of life. Old wives' tales surround this magical fruit that's as rich in tradition as medicinal properties.

Slane Whiskey, gooseberry syrup, lemon juice, mint, and cinnamon; mint meringue garnish.

This beef shepherd's pie has a small twist; instead of traditionally being baked by itself in a casserole dish, this pie is baked inside an all-butter pie crust. Ground beef cooked with onions, garlic, peas, and carrots, tomato paste, and worcestershire sauce; topped with mashed potatoes and toasted in the oven.
